Bulletin - Vermont Voice Mail Customers:

In a continuing effort to improve the quality of our products and services, we scheduled a mid-August upgrade to a new voicemail system with the very latest features.

It has now become necessary to accelerate your migration to the new voicemail platform, as the old system is no longer operable. With this upgrade to a completely new platform, your old information (greeting, messages and pass code) cannot be carried over, so we must ask for your cooperation during this immediate transition.

As of Wednesday, July 23rd you will begin receiving messages in the new system. We encourage you to take a moment to set up your new mailbox.

Voicemail set-up:

  1. Dial your normal voicemail access number from the phone number on which your voicemail service is provided: XXX-MAIL (6245). If you would like to set up your new voicemail from a remote location you may do so, but you will be prompted to enter the phone number on which your voicemail service is provided. You will be prompted for a default pass code. Enter '0000'. This code is for initial set-up only; you will be prompted to change it. Choose any memorable 4 to 10-digit number.
  2. To complete your greeting set-up, follow the steps in the pocket guide.
  3. Continue to use your current voicemail access number to access your voicemail and check for messages. That number will not change.

Customers located in Groton (584), Alburg (796), Isle LaMotte, (928) and Montgomery (326) may not receive stutter dial tone (message notification). Although this is temporary, customers in these areas are encouraged to check their mailboxes frequently, until stutter dial tone is restored.

We apologize for any trouble this accelerated voicemail migration may have caused and greatly appreciate your help and patience. If you have any questions or issues accessing your voicemail, please contact FairPoint Customer Sales and Service at 800-400-5568. Thank you, and enjoy the enhancements to your new voicemail service!
